About The Artist: Robbie's Story
Share
We (Robbie's family) would like to thank you for looking at her amazing artwork! Robbie is currently living in an assisted living facility and is dealing with memory issues. All the proceeds of her art will go towards her long-term care. Thank you for helping us share her legacy by giving these works of art a new home to bless. Below are a few words Robbie wrote a couple of years ago about her journey into painting:
After growing up with dreams of becoming a great novelist, after years of studying English composition and literature, after my stint as a college English professor, I finally stumbled into what I most wanted to do... create art!
One early highlight of my journey was working through the book "drawing on the right side of the brain" during a hurricane. I was astounded at how well those pencil drawings turned out, but then there was school, study, more school. teaching, working for a living...
...and retirement. That's when I tried throwing pottery and glazing that pottery. My husband simply said, "I bet you'd be good at watercolor."
...and I was hooked!
I went from pencil to watercolors. I focused on improving my skills. I realized that watercolor could do anything, even though it may require more planning and fixing.
From the beginning, I enjoyed painting animals. Pets, horses, livestock, wild life, you name it. I hope you enjoy the collection! -Robbie
